YouTubers busted entering Area 51 just weeks before the “Storm Area 51” event

Two Dutch YouTubers were arrested after they illegally entered Area 51 with a drone and cameras before the infamous set date when thousands of netizens pledged to “storm” the base.

The two men, Govert Charles Wilhelmus Jacob Sweep, 21, and Ties Granzier, 20, were taken into custody and arrested on Wednesday, spending the night in the Nye County Detention Center before being released on $500 bail.

Known as “Govert Sweep” and “Ties” on YouTube, the two collectively have around a million followers between the two of them.

The due were caught around three miles past the first layer of “no trespassing” signs, they were caught and turned over to the Nye County Sheriff’s Office.

According to The Daily Mail, the two were reportedly released early due to their YouTube status.

The arrest comes two weeks before the “Storm Area 51” event, which has over two million people claiming they will attend.

The US Air Force has warned the public to stay away from the base, no matter how “meme-tastic” a raid of the facility might be.
