Retired Marine Josue Barron has become an online sensation for his amazing act of determination to honor his fallen Marine brothers.

This past weekend, Barron attended a reunion at Camp Pendleton for the members of 3rd Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment, whom he deployed to Afghanistan with in 2010.

It has been five years since Barron was taken from his brothers in Afghanistan when a roadside bomb robbed him of his left leg and left eye.

Despite his injuries, Barron promised to climb this California mountain to honor his brothers one day.  With an incredible amount of grit, determination and support from fellow Marines he was able to keep his promise.

“I can’t let my amputation and my eye slow me down,” he told FOX 5

“I had told myself I want to see those crosses, and it took me five years to get up there. I knew I had to get up there some way some how,” said Barron.
