U.S. troops and Afghan forces are using the Wolfhound signal intelligence gathering system in Afghanistan to intercept and locate low-level enemy communications. The system is proving to be especially effective in identifying enemy push-to-talk radios which are commonly used by Taliban forces for communication and triggering IEDs. Wolfhound has been credited with saving many lives in-theater and has earned an Army Greatest Invention of the Year award.
