Vietnam vet opens up about killing a whole company of NVA to save his brothers

Mark Garrison flew hundreds of missions for the 119th AHC, stationed in the Central Highlands at Camp Holloway in Pleiku, Vietnam. He was awarded twenty-five Air Medals, four campaign Bronze Stars, and The Distinguished Flying Cross among numerous other awards.

This particular story is about an unexpected rescue mission of a four man LRRP (long range reconnaissance patrol) being chased down by a 200 man North Vietnam Army company.

This is just one of Mark’s many stories of heroism and bravery.  You can read more about Mark’s experiences in Vietnam in his book, GUTS ‘N GUNSHIPS: What it was Really Like to Fly Combat Helicopters in Vietnam.
