Video footage of a suicide bomber detonating himself near police officers in Pakistan has been released.
Five police officers are reportedly killed during the attack which was claimed by the Hizbul Ahrar, a splinter group of the Pakistani Taliban.
Police have described the blast as a suicide attack which was targeting a police van. The explosion occurred at 0844am local time near the Data Darbar Sufi shrine, one of the oldest Sufi shrines in South Asia, according to BBC.
The attack occurred as Pakistani Muslims mark the Islamic holy month of Ramadan.
Footage from the scene after the attack shows a badly damaged police vehicle surrounded by debris near a security checkpoint at the shrine.
