Here’s a video from Rafael Advanced Defense Systems, the Israeli company that developed the Iron Dome defense system. This system uses missiles to shoot down incoming rockets and artillery shells. A new system, using lasers, is under development and close to reality, according to Haaretz.com. Rafael introduced the new system, Iron Beam, at the Singapore Airshow in February 2014. Iron Beam is a laser-based missile defense system reminiscent of Star Wars style technology, reports Haaretz. PopMil will bring you more on Iron Beam as information becomes available.
