The slain women shown in a social media livestream posted online by the brother of up-and-coming rapper Uzzy Marcus have been identified as his fiancee and a teen girl.
Raymond Michael Weber, 29, is facing two counts of murder in connection with the deaths of 26-year-old Savannah Rae Theberge and a 15-year-old female, who has not been named. Theberge’s family identified her as one of the victims on Tuesday, according to People.
“Our dear sweet Savannah Rae’s life has been taken from her too soon,” the organizers of her GoFundMe wrote.
Theberge, who was also a mother to a 4-year-old boy, was originally from Georgia. Her mother, Enyaw Taylor-Theberge, said the victim had been living and working in Utah but often traveled California to visit Weber, who was identified as her fiancé, CBS13 reported
“She was a good girl and this was somebody that manipulated her and took advantage of her,” Taylor-Theberge told the station in a phone interview.
“She was not a drug-addict street person,”
Authorities over the weekend responded to a military housing complex in Vacaville after a neighbor told police Weber had been videoing himself inside one of the apartments and showing off a gun. The Instagram livestream also revealed a woman and a teenage girl lying on the floor of the residence, the neighbor allegedly told police.
When officers arrived on the scene around 12:32 a.m. on Saturday, Raymond — already wanted on an outstanding warrant for a range of felonies, including domestic battery and assault with a deadly weapon — had barricaded himself inside the residence. As a result, SWAT and negotiations teams were called to the scene, but they were ultimately unsuccessful in drawing Weber out of the building.
Police said in a press release the 29-year-old suspect was taken into custody “after a brief struggle — during which an officer utilized a taser.” He was identified on Monday by CBS13 as the older brother of Sacramento area-rapper Uzzy Marcus.
Weber is also reportedly an Army veteran but is not currently an active-duty soldier.
