Veteran’s Day discounts that are actually worth using

Many businesses and retailers offer a “Veteran’s Day” discount that is often the same discount they offer year round to other groups of people (i.e. AARP members).  Since almost every business offers a “10% discount” we are going to save you some time by avoiding these.  The following discounts are at least 20% off or 100% free!

  • Grace for Vets is a non-profit organization that has organized thousands of car wash locations to offer free car washes on Veteran’s Day. (Note: every 7-11 Car wash is participating)

  • IKEA – Entrée includes a sandwich, hot dish or entrée salad.
    • Must show a Military ID Card (active/reserve/retired), Current leave and Earnings Statement (LES), Drivers License with Veterans Designation, Photograph in uniform, be wearing uniform (if your service permits), Veterans Organization Card (e.g., American Legion and VFW), DD214, discharge paperwork, or other form of identification.

  • Great Clips
    • On Veteran’s day any veterans can receive a free hair cut at any Great Clips salon. In addition, any civilian who stops in to get a haircut will be given a free haircut card that can be given to a veteran to use on any day.

    • In addition to supporting Help A Hero, many Sport Clips locations will offer free haircuts to active-duty U.S. service members and veterans on Veterans Day, Wednesday, November 11, 2015, with valid proof of service.
