Footage from a Veterans Affairs clinic in the Atlanta area has gone public, showing an elderly Vietnam veteran being violently mistreated by a VA staff member.

The VA released the footage and reported the arrest of Lawrence F. Gaillard Jr., who is now facing charges for the April 28 attack on 73-year-old veteran Phillip Webb.

The incident took place at the Fort McPherson VA Clinic.

Galliard beat Webb so viciously following an argument that he was hospitalized for three days with a brain bleed.

According to AJC, Gaillard was arrested on one count of felony assault.

Incredulously, the man was released on a $10,000 bond.

The US Attorney dropped charges against Gaillard, claiming there were “jurisdictional issues,” but Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis later picked up the case.

“This disturbing behavior is contrary to our core values of treating Veterans with the dignity and respect they deserve,” a VA spokesperson said in a statement obtained by Channel 2. “We take this matter seriously and will cooperate fully with Fulton County law enforcement.”

It is unknown if Fulton County will handle the case or drop it at a later time.
