If has been just under four months since 30-year-old Airman Steven Williams was given a 35-year plea deal for the murder or Air Force veteran Tricia Todd.
According to a Facebook page created to help with her search she has finally been laid to rest in the South Florida VA National Cemetery next to WWII and Vietnam veterans.
A video posted on the page shows Todd’s young daughter, Faith, clinging to a bundle of flowers as a two-man crew placed Todd’s remains into the ground at the cemetery located in Lake Worth.
Todd, a hospice nurse and Air Force veteran, was slain in April by her former husband, Steven Williams- an active-duty airman.
Williams was a field training instructor with the 372nd Training Squadron at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base in North Carolina.
Parts of Todd’s remains were found in Hungryland Preserve along the border of Martin and Palm Beach Counties in Southern Florida, in sealed containers full of liquid and acid. Days later, sheriff’s office divers also removed battery-powered saws and a pair of pliers from a canal located near the burial area.
Williams is believed to have used the saw to dismember her body.
In exchange for information about the whereabouts of Todd’s remains, Williams was given a plea deal.
“Our beautiful sister, daughter, mother, and friend will be forever missed and forever loved,” Todd’s sister-in-law, Kristi Leigh Todd wrote on Facebook. “But we know you are where you truly belong, and we can rest in the knowledge that we will see her again.
“For everyone who has helped and supported the family, thank you so much. There’s still hard times to come and your support and prayers will be continually needed.”
