A US Airman is allegedly responsible for raping a 9-year-old girl in Guarm, according to Andersen AFB authorities.
33-year-old Technical Sergeant Louis Anthony Vargas is facing serious charges after multiple witnesses report seeing him rape the little girl on July 26, who also attested to Vargas’ crime.
“The allegations against Tech. Sgt. Louis Anthony Vargas are currently under investigation by the Guam Police Department and the Air Force Office of Special Investigations,” Andersen AFB spokesman Sergeant Jake Barriero said in a statement to the Pacific Daily News. “More information will be released when it becomes available. All questions should be directed to the Guam Police Department.”
Of the witness accounts, one witness claimed that she was in the home earlier and heard noises coming from the child’s bedroom. Unable to enter through a locked door, the woman then peeked through the window to find Vargas pulling up his shorts. Another individual saw Vargas with his pants down and the child in a state of undress.
Upon being interviewed by police, the child admitted to being touched inappropriately and raped by Vargas.
Vargas has since been charged with first-degree criminal sexual conduct as a first-degree felony, with a special allegation of committing a crime against a vulnerable victim. In addition to his felony charge, he faces two counts of second-degree sexual assault, with a special allegation of committing a crime against a vulnerable victim.
