Update: West Point senior cadet killed on the way to land nav. training, 22 others injured

A military vehicle rollover has claimed the life of a US Army cadet going into their senior year at the United States Military Academy.

In addition to the fatalities, twenty-two others were evacuated for non-threatening injuries, such as a broken arm and facial lacerations.

The cadets were being transported by soldiers to conduct a routine land navigation exercise, according to General Williams statements made during a press briefing.

The rollover took place earlier this morning near the Camp Natural Bridge training site.

Emergency helicopters were dispatched.

“There has been an accident in the vicinity of the Camp Natural Bridge training site. Emergency vehicles are responding. Please avoid Route 293. More information will follow,” the U.S. Military Academy tweeted.
