The first known photograph has emerged of Mohammed Emwazi - the Islamic State militant known as "Jihadi John" - as an adult. The image of the man who went on to become the face of the notorious terror organisation is revealed in student records from his time at the University of Westminster. It comes after the 27-year-old was identified as the masked figure seen in several videos of hostages being beheaded.
British intelligence officers are reportedly questioning teachers from the British high school of Mohammed Emwazi, who has been identified as the ISIS frontman killer known as “Jihadi John” after a new photo was released of him as a school boy.
Sky News reports that one of his classmates remembers him as a child. “There was nothing to suggest Emwazi was religious during his teenage years. He was quiet, rarely made eye contact, and always wore a baseball cap – but was known to get into the occasional fight.”
Because of his fighting Emwazi received anger management therapy one of his teachers told BBC News. “The teacher said he needed help controlling his emotions. But he was regarded as a “success story” after the therapy, she added.”
