U.S. Soldier found dead in South Korea, second in less than four months

A U.S. soldier was found unresponsive and pronounced dead at Camp Carroll in South Korea on Friday morning.

The soldier has only been identified as a member of the 35th Air Defense Artillery Brigade stationed at Camp Carroll in Daegu City, South Korea -two hours southeast of Seoul.

The soldier is the second soldier from Camp Caroll to die in less than four months.

Sgt. Eric Schenck, 33, of California, was killed in December when he was hit on the side of the road by a truck after getting out of his vehicle following a minor car accident, according to ABC News.

The 35th Air Defense Artillery Brigade is part of the 8th Army, which has been the commanding formation of all United States Army forces in South Korea since the Korean War.
