Two soldiers based at Fort Rucker were injured Tuesday afternoon when their Army helicopter crashed near Ozark, officials said.

First responders and Fort Rucker officials responded to the wreck around 2 p.m. Tuesday involving an AH-65 Apache helicopter, said a spokesman from the southeast Alabama base.

The two-person crew were transported for medical treatment, the spokesman said.

The aircraft sustained an unspecified amount of damage.
