Three US service members were killed and three others were wounded by an IED in southern Afghanistan today, according to a statement by NATO Resolute Support spokespersons.
The incident resulted in three dead and three wounded, with one US contractor being injured as well.
“The wounded service members and contractor were evacuated and are receiving medical care,” a NATO spokesperson wrote in a statement.
Claiming three KIA in a single day, the incident has so far been the deadliest day for US troops in Afghanistan, according to ABC News.
As the month draws to a close, November has proven to be the deadliest month in the war this year, with five American KIAs since November 1st.
