Three soldiers from New York’s Fort Drum robbed two gun stores in St. Lawrence County, including one owned by a veteran.
22-year-old Rian Patterson, 20-year-old Devin Diggs and 20-year-old Tyrease Kimmons were the three Soldiers arrested in connection with the robberies. While Patterson and Diggs were charged with stealing firearms from federally licensed firearms dealers and conspiring to do so, Kimmons is charged with knowingly receiving and possessing stolen firearms.
The robberies took place over a span of a few weeks, with the most recent being at Graham’s Gun Shop on Sunday, and the previous taking place at Bowman’s Gun Shop on September 14. The stores are around fifteen miles apart, and anywhere from a 45 minute to 1-hour drive from Fort Drum.
According to WWNYTV, around 10 firearms were taken during the burglaries, and the charges, like most federal felony gun crimes, all carry 10-year sentences with hefty fines.
Tim Bowman, owner of Bowman’s Gun Shop, served in the Iraq War and worked as a Corrections Officer for New York, according to his social media.
He has been running his gun shop in upstate New York since 2013.
