Three soldiers killed during training accident in Georgia


Three US Army Soldiers of the 3rd Infantry Division were killed during a training exercise Sunday morning after their Bradley Infantry Fighting Vehicle rolled over into deep water.

The Soldiers were conducting a training mission during the early, pre-dawn hours when the vehicle “rolled over into water,” killing three and injuring three others.

The three soldiers killed were pronounced dead on-site, and their family members are being informed of the mishap.

“Today is a heartbreaking day for the 3rd Infantry Division, and the entire Fort Stewart-Hunter Army Airfield community, as we are all devastated after a training accident this morning on the Fort Stewart Training Area,” read a statement written by Maj. Gen. Tony Aguto, commanding general of the 3rd Infantry Division. “We are extremely saddened by the loss of three Dogface Soldiers, and injuries to three more. Our hearts and prayers go out to all the families affected by this tragedy.”



According to CNN, an investigation has been initiated, with multiple assets from the US Army joining in to determine the cause of the fatal crash.
