An attack on the U.S. military’s largest military base in Afghanistan killed three American service members and a civilian contractor on Monday, according to reports.
A car bomb was detonated near one of the gates at Bagram Air Field, killing four people and injuring other American servicemembers, the Resolute Support command said in a statement.
Since the attack, the Taliban has claimed responsibility. A Taliban source stated on Twitter that the suicide car bombing destroyed one armored vehicle and killed or injured several foreign troops, according to Stripes.
Bagram Airfield has thousands of U.S. and allied troops and contractors on it at any given time.
