A small Georgia town’s “days of thunder” came to a not so fast and not so furious halt on Saturday night, after ten Fort Stewart Soldiers were busted street racing in a little place called Gum Branch.
The Soldiers made up the majority of the people ready to rumble that night, and an entire roadway was shut down for the racing before authorities stepped in.
According to WSAV, Liberty County Sheriff’s deputies soon swooped in, sealing off any escape routes.
Thirteen personnel were taken into custody, and ten of them were military personnel stationed at Fort Stewart.
All suspects are facing misdemeanor charges of drag racing.
Gum Branch has a population of around 273.
