The Taliban are steamrolling into the vacuum of power left behind after the United States pulled out of Afghanistan- and as a result, Afghan Special Operations Forces who didn’t fight to the last man ultimately had their last helpless moments caught on video.
The Afghan SOF operators were seen being lined up and executed on a video released by the Taliban, mercilessly gunned down after presumably assuming the Taliban would show quarter.
The Taliban fighters shouted “God is great!” as they mowed down the special troops.
The video, obtained by Funker530.com, was initially unnoticed by mainstream news outlets until they were allegedly pressured by the military video site to cover it.
“We have a strict policy at Funker530 of not showing executions or terrorist propaganda, but in this case it seems that this is the opposite of Taliban propaganda,” the site wrote. “The Taliban are hoping more ANA surrender to ease their push through Afghanistan, and they would like to be taken seriously as a government organization. This footage hurts both of their goals.”
According to CNN, the killings took place on June 16 in the town of Dawlat Abad in Faryab province, close to Afghanistan’s border with Turkmenistan.
Ten operators were killed in the execution according to Funker530 but CNN reports 22 being killed.
The situation in Afghanistan has grown so dire in such a short time, prompting many women to arm themselves in case the military fails to protect them from returning to a life under Taliban rule.
