Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger just took accuracy training to a new level.

The 34-year-old quarterback took shots with Navy SEAL Clayton Hergert on the television show Gridiron Outdoors.

“You think about dream jobs, and I wanted to be like James Bond or a Top Gun fighter pilot being like the bad dude… the sniper that can shoot someone from a mile away is pretty cool,” Roethlisberger said.

Clad in tactical hunting wear and shooting from the prone position, Roethlisberger engaged targets at distances just shy of 550 meters. While he didn’t hit his target at first, he eventually hit it.

The two-time Super Bowl champion noted how natural the .308 Ruger Precision rifle felt to him.

“Once you anchor as many parts of your body as you can into the ground, you just become natural with the gun,” he said. “It felt like it was a part of your body.”

Clayton Hergert is a former SEAL who graduated from the US Naval Academy in 2001. He is the owner and lead instructor of ATX Precision and Carbine in central Texas.
