Soldier who was injured in search for Bergdahl in Afghanistan passes away

The US Army Master Sergeant who was shot in the head in 2009 while trying to find deserter and Taliban sympathizer Bowe Bergdahl has succumbed to his wounds a decade later.

Retired MSG Mark Allen, 46, was rendered unable to walk or speak after being wounded on the attempted search and rescue mission in Afghanistan ten years ago,

Bergdahl, who was imprisoned by the Taliban for five years after he abandoned his post and attempted to link up with them, was dishonorably discharged from the US Army after he was traded for five Taliban prisoners.

Allen’s wife, Shannon Allen, had no issues publicly expressing her disgust towards the deserter.

“Meet my husband,” she wrote on Facebook, “injuries directly brought to you by the actions of this traitor.”

According to FOX News, Mark Allen leaves behind his wife and a young daughter. His four-hour funeral service will be held in Loganville, Georgia on October 17 at 4 PM.
