Update: The US Army Drill Sergeant who stopped a troublemaking private from carrying out a nicotine-pushing black market at Fort Lee, Virginia, has been identified.

Drill Sergeant Harden, who reportedly recognized and called out Pvt. Dakarai Tor, has been identified as the “round brown”-sporting individual who put an end to the 82nd Airborne Division member’s attempts to sell nicotine products to basic trainees.

Dressing in PTs to look like a recruit, Tor would sneak onto basic training grounds and sell vape pens and accessories to recruits hurting for their next nicotine hit.

That is until Drill Sergeant Harden recognized Tor from a precious cycle and ran him down.

The NCO’s image was leaked in an Angry Cops video.

In the comments, Justin Martinez claimed that Hardin is in charge of training Ammunition Specialists at the 832nd Ordnance Battalion’s E Company.

“He’s a drill sergeant for the 89B’s in training at E Co 832,” he wrote. “Absolute unit. Man was practically everyone’s favorite drill sergeant since he barely cared about regs and always took care of his soldiers, whether he PT’d them to teach a lesson or he worked with them to accomplish a goal or solve a problem. I was in the 89D Platoon, so I wasn’t directly under him, but he was still a regular face and I was happy to be one of his soldiers.”

Tor is currently being chaptered out of the Army, according to a video on his TikTok account.

April 20 – An investigation is underway at Virginia’s Fort Lee, following claims that an Army private was operating something akin to a black market for basic trainees.

The story, which involves intrigue, disguise, and a foot chase, all leads to a pretty petty criminal racket: selling vapes to recruits undergoing Basic Training.

Pvt. Dakarai Tor, 20, explained on TikTok that he was getting kicked out of the Army over the scheme.

Tor, who is assigned to the 1st Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division, was detained in February.

According to Task and Purpose, Tor was caught by a Drill Sergeant, who recognized him from his time at Fort Lee during Advanced Individual Training.

β€œI had the plan,” Tor commented. β€œIt just came back and bit me in the ass.”

A foot chase ensued and Tor was taken down by other Soldiers. The police were called but released him shortly after.

He returned to Fort Bragg where he got the second Article 15 of his career and was assigned extra duty.

The 18th Airborne Corps confirmed an investigation was ongoing.
