Soldier who shot gun at bar was allegedly sleeping with deployed soldier’s wife

Fort Bliss, TX – The altercation that resulted in the arrest of a Fort Bliss soldier last month was allegedly started over an argument about another soldier’s wife.

Police arrested Andrew Brooksher, 23, and charged him with three charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after he fired off shots from a handgun in the parking lot of Little Bit nightclub in El Paso.

He was booked on into the El Paso County Jail with bonds totaling $150,000 on July 13 but was able to bond out.

During a video recording of the incident, a man involved in a fight with Brooksher says, “You sleep with a mother******* wife again mother****** and I’ll catch your a**…sleep with a mother******* wife on deployment.”

The camera then pans to Brooksher as he allegedly fires three shots and says, “let’s go, punk.”

Police did not identify all the participants in the altercation that preceded the video recording, but a press release indicates that Brooksher was not involved. The release did state the Brooksher pointed the gun at several people before leaving the scene.
