Soldier found tied up and executed, returned from deployment few months ago

A Tennessee Army National Guardsman was found bound and shot earlier this month, leaving behind many questions for local law enforcement officials.

Specialist Jacob Bishop, who had just returned from a deployment in Poland, was found by his mother on October 1, “physically bound and shot multiple times.”

She quickly notified the Loudon County Sheriff’s Office, who have since been working non-stop to solve the murder.

“We continue to work tirelessly and around the clock to bring the party, or parties, responsible for the murder of a US Soldier to justice, and to provide the Bishop family with some form of closure”, said Loudon County Sheriff Tim Guider. “Jacob Bishop was a father of two, and one of our nation’s guardians.”

The authorities believe the incident to be “isolated,” but noted that whoever responsible could be armed and dangerous.

According to WMUR, witnesses report seeing a white SUV in the area prior to Bishop’s murder.

Bishop was a resident of Lenoir City. The father of two was well-respected by his community, and people who knew him claimed he was quite generous.

I know that he was an amazing man and father,” Jessica Cofer, a friend of Bishop, told WVLT News. “He was one of those guys that would give you the shirt off his back and took pride in serving his country! I have known him since we were just kids and Jacob was without a doubt one of the sweetest and funniest men you will ever meet.”
