A US Army Airborne Infantryman was found dead in his room at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson on Thursday, setting of an investigation that has since puzzled the Alaskan military installation.
Spc. Milik Jaquez Craig, an Infantryman, was found dead by a fellow Soldier just before midnight.
A South Carolina native, Craig enlisted in the Spring of 2018 and arrived in Alaska by August of the same year.
“Milik Craig was an amazing paratrooper, teammate, and friend to all Geronimos,” said Lt. Col. Matthew Myer, 1-501st commander. “His personal leadership, commitment, and hard work will be sorely missed by us all.”
According to KTUU, the US Army Criminal Investigation Command (CID) is looking into the matter.
It is unknown of COVID-19 played a role in the Soldier’s death.
