Soldier charged with killing his wife in home with their children

A US Army sergeant has been accused of the murder of his wife in Mississippi, allegedly killing her in the home shared with their three children.

36-year-old Shauna Harris was fatally shot on late Sunday, with Lamar County Sheriff’s deputies placing the blame on 33-year-old Percy Le’Ron Harris Sr., who currently sits in the county jail.

Law enforcement officers were dispatched to the home by one of the Harris children, who told the 911 center that their parents were arguing. He later reported hearing a gunshot while waiting for deputies to arrive.

According to US News, it is unclear if Harris has an attorney.

Harris, an E-6, is a supply sergeant with the US Army. It is unknown if he serves in an active, Reserve or National Guard role.

Prior to the murder, Harris’ last public social media post was a passage from the chapter of Luke in the Bible.

“But I say unto you which hear, love your enemies, do good to them which hate you,” the passage read. “Bless them that curse you and pray for them which despitefully use you.”
