Soldier assigned to Special Forces arrested for killing wife

A United States Army Soldier has been arrested in connection with the murder of his wife, authorities report.

30-year-old Camden Tyre Barnum, of Crestview, Florida, is being held as the alleged shooter that took the life of his spouse, 31-year-old Rictaysha Barnum.

Crestview Police report that they had answered a shots fired call on December 28. Upon arrival at the scene, officers discovered Mrs. Barnum’s body.

Camden Barnum was detained on the scene and transported to the Okaloosa County Jail, where is awaiting trial for murder.

According to WKRG, the 7th Special Forces Group at Eglin AFB said Camden is an Army Human Intelligence Collection Analyst, assigned to 1st Battalion, 7th SFG(A,) and reported to 7th Special Forces Group in 2021.

“7th SFG(A) extends our deepest condolences to the family of Rictaysha Barnum,” 7th SFG(A) said in a press release. “Our thoughts and prayers are with them all, particularly their children during this difficult time.”
