Soldier arrested with two others for murdering step father, burning body

An active-duty soldier is one of three arrested in connection to an immolated body found in an Oklahoma cemetery on Independence Day.

The US Army Criminal Investigation Command (CID) has been working with Pittsburg County Sheriff Chris Morris in the arrests of 21-year-old PFC Tyler Morgan, Jimmy Nace, and Matt Vermillion.

The trio, who range from age 21 to 46, have been implicating in the beating, murder, and immolation of Bob Dalpoas, who is Morgan’s stepfather.

Detective Randy Hass says the United States Army Criminal Investigations Command opened a joint investigation and greatly assisted in the case.

Hass says Nace was arrested at a house in Haileyville and Vermillion was arrested at a house in Krebs. Hass says Pittsburg County Deputies, McAlester Police Officers, Krebs Police Officers and Oklahoma Highway Patrol Troopers helped with the arrests.

Pittsburg County investigators say the crime scene in the cemetery was one of the most brutal they have worked.

According to News On 6, the US Army has taken Morgan into custody at Joint Base Lewis-McChord in Washington.
