Soldier arrested with illegal gun after leading police on 200 mph chase

Shaquille Windsor

(Killeen, TX) A Fort Hood soldier is behind bars after leading Texas State Troopers on a 200 mile-per-hour motorcycle chase through two counties.

22-year-old Fort Hood soldier Shaquille H. Windsor was arrested by Troopers on Sunday after he attempted to elude them when they tried to pull him over for speeding at around 3:45 PM.

Texas DPS Troopers say that Windsor eventually crashed in Copperas Cove, but was miraculously uninjured. Fleeing on foot, he was quickly caught and sent to the Coryell County Jail.

According to ABC10, Windsor was charged with evasion in a vehicle and the unlawful possession of a firearm after a pistol was found on his person.

While authorities say the soldier is from Fort Hood, Fort Hood Press Center declined to comment on the matter, referring all questions to Copperas Cove Police.
