
A US Army Reservist who worked as a Louisiana Sheriff’s Deputy reportedly fell to his death while deployed to Saudi Arabia.
Specialist Clayton James Horne, a 23-year-old military policeman and sheriff’s deputy from Winn Parish, was killed after he fell from a tower in Riyadh.
“Clayton was an excellent deputy, and I was looking forward to him completing his tour and returning to work at the Sheriff’s Office,” the Winn Parish Sheriff’s Office posted to Facebook on Saturday.
According to KSLA, Horne enlisted in the Army Reserve in 2015. He and assigned to the Florida-based 351st Military Police Company, 160th Military Police Battalion, 290th Military Police Brigade, 200th Military Police Command.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with the Horne family during this tragic event,” said 200th MPC spokeswoman Major Valerie M. Palacios. “Specialist Horne was a professional and was committed to the mission. We are grateful for his service. A thorough investigation is being conducted into the circumstances and, therefore, we are unable to provide any further information at this time.”
Horne deployed at the start of the year, and was acting in support of Operation Inherent Resolve.
