Sergeant Major Dailey smokes celebrity chef in contest

Sergeant Major Dailey and celebrity chef, Robert Irving went head-to-head in a push up contest at Fort Belvoir, VA to raise awareness for the Army’s Performance Triad.  The Triad is an Army initiative that gets back to the basics of health: sleep, activity, and nutrition.

During the contest Irving starts out strong but then falls to his knees which would normally cause his push up counting to be terminated!

FM 21-20 states:”FRONT-LEANING REST POSITION IS THE ONLY AUTHORIZED REST POSITION. THAT IS, YOU MAY SAG IN THE MIDDLE OR FLEX YOUR BACK. WHEN FLEXING YOUR BACK, YOU MAY BEND YOUR KNEES, BUT NOT TO SUCH AN EXTENT THAT YOU ARE SUPPORTING MOST OF YOUR BODY WEIGHT WITH YOUR LEGS. IF THIS OCCURS, YOUR PERFORMANCE WILL BE TERMINATED.”

Not only did his grader continue counting his push ups but they also counted his half-push ups that like looked more like seizures.

Sergeant Major Dailey performed proper push ups throughout the contest while remaining in the front leaning rest position.  It is very clear the graders do not know the regulations because they gave Irving the victory!

The rest of us know who really won…
