Sailors arrested for fighting, attacking a police officer at U.S. Navy party

Three Sailors in Virginia were rounded up by the Norfolk Police following a scuffle at a Navy holiday party.

The incident, which took place in December at the Waterside Marriott, involved a large group of individuals who appeared ready to fight.

Spotting the potential trouble brewing, a police officer escorted a disorderly man from the scene, only to return to another fight taking place.

While the crowd and a detective attempted to break up the fight, Boatswain’s Mate Seaman Akilah Carradine-McMillian attacked several people, including a plainclothes detective.

Ordering Carradine-McMillian to simmer down and comply, police were surprised that the woman disregarded their every command.

Carradine-McMillian was charged with disorderly conduct.

Two others, Aviation Ordnanceman 3rd Class Demetrius Jackson and Electronics Technician 3rd Class Ryann Moore, were also arrested.

According to WTKR, the three are assigned to the USS Dwight D. Eisenhower.

Needless to say, the US Navy wasn’t thrilled that three of their own went to jail.

“With regard to this incident, neither the United States Navy nor the USS Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN 69) condone this type of behavior,” CDR Jennifer Cragg, Force Public Affairs Officer for the Naval Air Force Atlantic, said in a statement. “We require our Sailors to maintain military bearing on and off duty at all times. In terms of accountability, all administrative and or disciplinary options will be considered, as appropriate.”
