Petty Officer First Class Brian Cooper might have one of the worst bunks to sleep in -well, without ear plugs at least- on the USS Carl Vinson. Located directly beneath the flight deck’s catapult, he can hear and feel almost every bit of each takeoff as if he was on the deck itself. On August 18th, he posted a video from his bunk to Facebook with the following caption, “For those wondering what it’s like to “sleep” underneath a flight deck catapult on an aircraft carrier.”
