A US Navy sailor in Florida has been accused of utilizing a firearm during a road rage incident, according to authorities in the upper part of the state.
Kyle Aaron Byrne was arrested in Baker County after he allegedly brandished a firearm on I-10 Monday night, pointing the weapon at a female motorist who had drawn his ire.
The woman, who was with her boyfriend at the time, was reportedly being tailgated by Byrne, but could not let him pass due to the other lane being blocked.
According to News4Jax, the frightened motorist then called the Baker County Sheriff’s Office, who tracked down Byrne and pulled him over.
Byrne admitted to tailgating but denied the brandishing incident. During a search, a Sig Sauer handgun was found in the vehicle.
The NAS Jacksonville-based sailor was arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
