A Russian soldier allegedly ran over his commanding officer with a tank as an act of defiance after his unit suffered ‘massive losses’ in Ukraine.
A journalist in Ukraine, Roman Tsymbaliuk, posted footage that allegedly shows Russian Colonel Yuri Medvedev being taken to a hospital with severe injuries to his legs after being run over.
“A soldier, choosing a convenient moment during the battle, ran over his brigade commander, Colonel Yuri Medvedev, with a tank, injuring both his legs,” Tsimbalyuk wrote.
Medvedev was reportedly given a medal, “The Order of Courage,” for the attack and is recovering in a hospital in Belarus.
Daily Mail reports the attack has not been corroborated by other sources but a video released by Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov shows Medvedev being taken to Belarus for hospital treatment.
