REVIEW: Trident Kraken AMS Series iPad Case

Searching for the most rugged iPad or iPad Mini protective case to withstand the daily rigors of military life and military deployments? Look no further than the military tested (Mil-STD-810F) Kraken AMS Series “Adaptive Modular System” for tablets from Trident. Made in the U.S.A. and constructed of hardened bio-enhanced polycarbonate shell with shock-absorbing silicone, these tough cases can withstand drops, dust, wind, rain, vibrations and other hazards commonly found in today’s military life. Specifically, these cases can withstand 26 drops onto concrete from 4 feet, vibrations for 18 hours at 20-2000Hz, rain at 7.9 inches per hour and rain and wind at 40mph for 1 hour. And dust filters keep dust/sand out for 3 hours at 29ft/59 ft/sec.

We reviewed the Trident cases here at PopularMilitary.com and were very impressed. Unlike the OtterBox case we tested, these cases fit the iPad with ease. (The OtterBox cases were somewhat difficult to put on and take off.) There is the hard protective shell and inside there is a silicone rubber-like sleeve that reminds us of a gasket it fits so well. The sleeve fits both inside the case and the iPad like a glove. In fact, it is the sleeve that is the most impressive feature of this case, giving this case the edge over the popular OtterBox. The protective screen is built into the outer case and there are attached protective plugs that cover ports. Overall, this is the case we would most trust for the rigorous demands of military environments.

Compatible with Apple iPad 4, Apple iPad 3, Apple iPad 2 and also available for other popular tablets and eReaders including the Samsung Galaxy, Google Nexus 7 and Amazon Kindle Fire. Military edition cases feature an official insignia officially licensed by the U.S. Armed Forces. For more information visit the Trident Case website.
