The Houston Police department has released security footage of a man robbing a young military wife at an Exxon Mobil last month.
She was the victim of the robber’s second robbery that the police know of. The suspect has been described by police as a black male in his 30s, about 5 feet 10 inches tall, 230 to 240 pounds, with long braids.
He was first recorded robbing a Timewise Convenience Store at 12355 Katy Freeway in Houston, Tx about 3:50 p.m. on February 14.
His robbery method appears to the same for both incidents. During the second robbery – which occurred at the Exxon Gas Station at 1520 Barker Cypress about 5 p.m. on February 21 – the suspect entered the convenience store and approached the counter to buy a soda as he did in the first robbery.
According to Houston police, as the employees opened the register to conduct the transaction, the suspect pulled out a pistol and demanded money from the register. The employees were forced to the ground at gunpoint and the suspect fled on foot in an unknown direction.
The military wife – who wishes to remain anonymous – said, “He said, ‘You have two seconds to do this. If a customer walks in before you’re done, I’m going to shoot you and them,'” according to click2houston.
On the security video a woman can be seen walking into the gas station just seconds after the robbery was complete.
The military wife told reporters she was working to earn enough money to move to her husband’s duty station after he completes basic training. She did not report which branch of the services her husband is serving in.
Anyone with information in this case is urged to contact the HPD Robbery Division at 713-308-0700 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
