Police investigating homicide outside Nellis Air Force Base main gate


Early this morning Las Vegas Metro Police responded to a call of a shooting in the parking lot of the Nellis Suites at Main Gate.

According to Fox5, Lt. David Gordon said the initial call of a shooting came in just past 2:30 a.m. in the 4500 block of North Las Vegas Boulevard.

The report suggests there was a fight that damaged vehicles and escalated to the point where a handgun was used. Lt. Dan McGrath, of Metro’s Homicide Section, said that a white man in his 20’s was hit with a bullet and transported to University Medical Center. The victim died while in treatment at the hospital.

Police have yet to identify the suspect but they are looking for a 1990’s model black Volkswagen Jetta with tinted windows, gold rims and Arizona license plates.
