PHOTO: Redstone Ballistic Missile


The Redstone ballistic missile was a high-accuracy, liquid-propelled, surface-to-surface missile developed by the U.S. Army Ballistic Missile Agency at Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, Alabama, under the direction of Dr. von Braun. The Redstone rocket was known as “Old Reliable” because of its many missions. The first Redstone Missile was launched from Cape Canaveral, Florida on August 30th, 1953.
