A mere thirty minutes away from the nightclub that was ground zero of the Orlando massacre, the son of the terrorist who carried out the act was spotted- at a nearby Hillary Clinton rally.
Omar Mateen’s father Seddique was spotted front and center in the crowd at the Kissimmee, Florida rally, which took place yesterday evening.
Clinton, who was supposed to be talking jobs at the rally, took an oddly different approach in her scheduled talking points when she started her speech by talking about the Orlando attack.
“I know how many people, families, loved ones, and friends are still grieving, and we will be with you as you rebuild your lives,” the former Secretary of State said.
The elder Mateen -who was seated within the first three rows directly behind Hillary- says he was given an invitation to attend the rally.
Confronted at two separate locations, Mateen initially did not want to speak to WPTV, , saying that “We’ve been cooperating with the federal government, and that’s about it.” He also lamented that he wished his son had joined the US military to fight ISIS.

Later, he would say that “Hillary Clinton is good for United States versus Donald Trump, who has no solutions.”
Mateen held up a sign he says he made for the rally, which highlighted terms such as “Good for National Security” and “Gun Control Laws”
Mateen is the host of the Durand Jirga Show, a YouTube-based show that aired from California and has been known for anti-American and pro-Taliban rhetoric. In addition, Mateen also ran for president of Afghanistan. In April, he visited Congress and the State Department, meeting US political leaders.
When asked if he thought some people would be surprised, he said “Why should they be surprised? I love the United States and I’ve been living here a long time.”
Mateen evaded questions involving whether or not he knew he was going to be sitting directly behind Clinton, saying “It’s a Democratic party, so everyone can join.”
