NCIS has been assigned to a disturbing case involving a Navy Lieutenant accused of “owning and trading” child pornography.
The investigation began in early February, when Kitsap County Sheriff’s detectives arrested the 34-year-old suspect for “patronizing a prostitute.”
After getting a search warrant for the Lieutenant’s phone– following the arrest– police discovered some very disturbing information.
According to the Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office, the suspect had more than 9,000 “images and videos of minors being sexually violated.”
Not only was he in possession of “depictions of a minor engaged in sexually explicit conduct,” but he’s also charged with “intent to develop, duplicate, publish, print, or exchange” the photos.
The unidentified sailor is assigned to the USS Nimitz – one of the largest warships in the world. Her homeport is on the Kitsap Peninsula in Washington state.
The suspect’s arraignment is scheduled for this afternoon in Kitsap County District Court. His bail is set at $250,000, according to KOMO News.
