A DC-area man is dead, and a Navy Corpsman based out of Quantico is being accused of killing him.

Hospital Corpsman 3rd Class Collin J. Potter has been charged with 1st Degree Murder While Armed and is currently sitting in DC’s Central Detention Facility after allegedly stabbing Vongell Lugo to death on Sunday.

The Metropolitan Police Department suspects that Potter killed Lugo inside of an apartment building, which the Navy Times suggests may have been Lugo’s residence.

Police found Lugo’s body in the apartment building hallway around a quarter after four in the morning, with emergency services noting that they “found the victim displayed no signs consistent with life.”

The U.S. Marine Corps Training Command confirmed that DC police had arrested Potter, who is assigned to The Basic School at Quantico.

According to information pulled from his social media profile, Potter is from Boise, Idaho, and is engaged to be married.
