A 34-year-old chief petty officer in the Florida Panhandle has been arrested after killing her husband in their garage- while the victim was on the phone with 911.
Bree Kuhn, a CPO at NAS Pensacola, was charged with the first-degree premeditated murder of Collin James Turner.
The Gulf Breeze resident had reportedly locked her husband into the garage and opened fire through the door as soon as he called 911.
According to the Navy Times, the couple’s children were inside the home during the event.
“It’s just a sad case -a very sad case- of people arguing and then, it gets to this point,” Santa Rosa County Sheriff Bob Johnson said of the incident.
Johnson went on to say that Turner wanted to take the kids out of state, much to the dismay of Kuhn.
Prior to the shooting, deputies had been called to the residence over a domestic dispute several times in the same day, but found no evidence.
Kuhn was in a state of shock when deputies arrived after the shooting.
“I can’t go into what she said or anything like that,” Johnson said. “But to put it the best way, I’d say (she was in) shock, probably. You’re a Navy chief one day, and the next day, you’re in jail.”
