Navy captain arrested after defending himself from his drunk wife, he says

A US Navy captain has been accused of fracturing his wife’s ribs during a domestic dispute, authorities report.

Captain Dennis Turner, who is stationed in Virginia, was initially contacted on the matter in February when police came to his Hampton home.

Turner claimed that he and his wife had been drinking when they got into an argument. He told police his wife got “in his face with her phone” and “began to destroy the kitchen, punch [him] in the face, throw water on him and ripped his shirt.”

Turner’s wife claimed that she suffered back and rib injuries, despite refusing treatment and claims from police that she “was not cooperative with the investigation.”

According to WAVY, The Navy confirmed that Turner is assigned to the US Second Fleet.

“The Navy is cooperating fully with civilian authorities. This incident is under investigation, so it would be inappropriate to comment further,” said Navy spokesperson Cmdr. Lara Bollinger.
