An Ohio Army National Guardsman was found after being reported missing.
21-year-old Columbus resident Jordan Middlebrooks was found in Clayton County, Georgia, after nearly a week of exhaustive searches by family, friends, law enforcement and military comrades.
Middlebrooks was last seen at a Covington Taco Bell before going to a bar on Thanksgiving. His vehicle and phone were left behind at the Taco Bell.
It’s unknown why the 212th Support Maintenance Company Soldier was several states away, though all parties involved are glad to have him back.
“SPC Middlebrooks is a vital member of our Guard family, his safety is our biggest concern,” the Ohio National Guard said in a statement on social media.
Middlebrooks’ mother, Brandy Lipscomb, thanked the US ARMY WTF Moments and members of the 212th for their help in tracking down her son, as well as lauding the efforts of the Covington, Cincinnati and Columbus Police Departments.
“I want to thank everyone who participated in the search for my son Jordan Middlebrooks. Jordan is safe and sound and was found in Georgia,” she wrote on Facebook.
