Military sets up tents for the overflow of bodies in New York City due to coronavirus

Morgue tents have been set up in New York City’s Manhattan-based Bellevue Hospital in anticipation of potential pandemic fatalities.

The structures were constructed by Air National Guardsmen and were placed next to refrigerated trailers and a specialized mobile command center used by the city’s medical examiners.

According to a “source” willing to relay information to the New York Post, “The plan is for them [refrigerated trailers] to be there and throughout the city.”

Military personnel -presumably Air Guard or Air Force Reservists- were seen milling around the site after construction, some with hands in their pockets and mismatched uniforms.

On Tuesday morning, Governor Andrew Cuomo announced that 210 Empire State residents are dead and that 60% of the 25,665 cases came from the Big Apple.

In the past, the Bellevue site was used as a casualty collection point for 9/11 victims.
