A South Florida Marine was shot and killed during a carjacking in Miami Gardens over the weekend. His family is pleading with the public to come forward and help them identify the killer.
27- year-old Guillermo Comme served two tours overseas – in Iraq and Afghanistan. His wife, Laura, describes him as a good, hard-working man, an honorable Marine and an amazing husband and father to a 9-year-old daughter. Laura says her husband was given multiple awards for his military service including a Good Conduct Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, and was released with an honorable discharge.
Guillermo was shot and killed overnight Saturday after an armed carjacker fired one of the two weapons he was carrying, police said. The couple was leaving a party near 198th Street and NW 44th Court when the man approached, tried to rob them and take their vehicle.
One of Comme’s family members reportedly came outside after hearing the struggle, retrieved a gun from inside the home and shot the suspect four times.
He was later found by officers at a nearby intersection, and taken to the hospital in critical condition. Police have not yet released the suspect’s name, according to NBC 6.
A GoFundMe Page has been set up to help the Comme family with basic needs, as they deal with this tremendous loss.
