A female Marine veteran who started an impressive modeling career is now doing a killer calendar shoot and…eating crayons?
Shannon Ihrke spent four years in an administrative role in the US Marines, spending time at duty stations in South Carolina and Illinois before settling down in the latter state.
Since leaving the Marines, the model has been blowing up the internet with stunning photoshoots, both professionally and on Instagram.

The 29-year-old recently posed for the 2019 Military Glamor Calendar, but has also been featured in a recent “Curves ‘N Combat Boots” video, where she and several other women don Marine fatigues and chow down on crayons.
The video was posted on Instagram on September 19, and features several girls eating the waxy Marine candy while a disgusted soldier looks on.
While this may seem unappealing to most (as it should), the munching of the coloring instruments is actually a commercial product push using an inter-service joke that went too far- the crayons are actually edible crayons known as CREs, or “Crayons, Ready-to-Eat.”
Since it’s posting just shy of ten days ago, the clip has over 120,099 views.
Ihrke began modeling immediately after the Marines, and took up as many modeling jobs she could find until she competed in a local radio station’s “Rock Girl” competition in 2013. Securing her place, she quickly began climbing the ladder in the modeling world.
